Change, Attitude

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”

-Maya Angelou

Stop being a still person. Still complaining about this and complaining about that. If you are still talking about problems from a year or years ago, whether you know it or not you are still. If you are still talking about people and how people are causing problems in your life then maybe you are the problem because you are still around it whether it is physically or mentally. At some point and time in our lives we need to surround ourselves (blog on that coming later honey) with positive people, places, and things. One of my first prayers in the morning to the good Lord, Jesus is “God anything that is negative on this good day, I ask that you stop it, because I don’t have time to embarrass the devil.” (With dignity and lots of class of course, winks right eye.)  Stop entertaining the negativity, because some of you know like I know that if you stopped worrying about them and theirs, then you would have a you and yours. Like seriously, if we put the energy into ourselves that we put into other people we could conquer the world.

Stop! Entertaining people that you can feed, but they can’t feed you. You scratch my back; I’ll scratch your back. Stop! Talking to people who are more concerned about what happened at Johnny’s house across the street last night, whether than what’s happening up in their own four walls. Stop! Giving people gallons of love, when they can’t give you a pint. Stop! Taking stabs for people who wouldn’t even take a paper cut for you. To whom much is given much is required.

We all need friends who will encourage us when we are down, you know get us out of our funks. A pick me up kind of friend. A friend who will PRAY FOR YOU! If you call Lisa with a problem and you get off the phone still mad, then Lisa is not your friend. You should feel free, hopeful, encouraged when you hang up that phone. You need a friend that will change the forecast on a rainy day in your life, because if you don’t know it, Lisa is still and she wants you to be still with her. Call her tomorrow with good news and see how she reacts to that….I’ll wait. So I am here to encourage you it’s okay to move on away from certain people, places, and things in your life that are still. I had to do it. Some people say I have changed, and they ain’t lying (yes I said ain’t, we’ve had this conversation already.) My goal is not to stay the same, where will growth come from? In this mind set you will lose people, but you will gain so much in yourself and that’s what’s important, you!

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I become a man, I put childish things away. 1 CORINTHIANS 13

For those of you who don’t know you can be forty with a childish mind. Age doesn’t always make you more experinced or wiser. Sometimes age can make a fool out of you because you still think you know it all.

So if you are reading this and you are a still person, I pray you find courage to move, and to keep it moving.

Because nothing changes, if nothing changes.

I’m Just Saying…
