My Thoughts on Social Media.

If you’re checking for me on social media, it’s going to be null in void! My best moments are not even shared there.

Okay so, for those who do not know. I’m really not that big on social media. Don’t misconstrue my posting and involvement Chile. If I wasn’t a blogger, I wouldn’t have not nah social media site. Abd that’s a facts!

I neva had Black Planet, My Space, and I didn’t have Facebook until I met my husband and he deployed to Afghanistan. We would rarely communicate through DM’s. He mostly called when he could. Once we broke up, I broke up with Facebook. It was no need for it anymore. Being I only got it because it was conducive to my life style being with him. When I first got Facebook, it was like, ‘Oh, this is what people are doing?’ In all truth, my first perception of social media was negative, and childish. People were spilling their hearts out in statuses. People were arguing in with each other in comments, and then some. I was like, ‘Whaaat.’ I was either 19 or 20 when I first got a taste of the social media, and let’s just say I was not impressed, at all. That was years ago, and it was messy then! After I permanently deleted my Facebook account, I didn’t have anything for quit some time. And trust me, I was just fine with that. That was normal for me. The way I’ve always felt is, if you have my phone number, then it’s real. I’m not concerned with ‘friends’ on social media.

I remember when I first met Rob, my husband. I was 18. He asked me did I have Black Planet or My Space, and I thought he was talking about a movie Chile.

Time passed and I eventually got an Instagram account. I wasn’t even pressed about it. One of my old friends set up my account. It was cool. Instagram being a lot different from Facebook, at the time. Now, it’s all one in the same to me. I rarely eva, eva posted back then. I didn’t even know what the Shaderoom was. Or that you could follow celebrities and public figures. I be so outta loop. I rarely eva scrolled my timeline. I was not familiar with #hashtags #TBT, #MCM, or #WCE. Chile, I ain’t know nothing! I’m so old school, even now. I write everything down in my planner. I have a address book with all the numbers in my phone written down on paper. I guess I don’t easily fall into the trend of things. When I first got Snapchat, I got on my cousin and friends last nerve. I was posting like I was getting paid for it! Meanwhile, they were so ova SnapChat. Rarely eva getting up there. They ain’t lie when they said, ‘What done got old to you, is brand new to someone else.’

Now! I really do enjoy seeing old friends from middle school and high school that I use to kick it with, be in the band with, etc. I enjoy seeing how everyone is grown now with kids. It’s bute. I like chit chatting with folk. I like people. I love a good ole conversation, and some good education. You can learn a lot from people if you listen. So yeah, social media is cool on that. But if I had to choose, I would still choose a life with no social media. However, I gots to network and promo, so.

If you’re someone who posts all day, everyday, about everything, cool. That’s fine! No, like forreal. I mean, thats what it’s made for. However, that ain’t me. I legit have over 8,000 pictures and videos in my phone all together. I promise majority of it the internet won’t see. I didn’t post pictures from my husbands birthday, mines, or our anniversary happenings. I just think some things need to be private, or a snippet. I’m just private. Chile, my husband is worse than me. We’re definitely not open book type of people. I do share but strictly what I want to. I’ve learned years ago that most people are nosey. Not genuinely concerned. Even folk close to you.

I try to pop out with a picture every now and then though Chile. We’ll, it be more like once in a blue moon, but. I always keep my #Rlsc followers in mind. I don’t eva want y’all to think I done went ghost on you. Mmm…k!! I like to post so I can give y’all a little gist of me. Ya know, for those who don’t know me personally, or just simply not at all.

I ain’t even going to lie. Sometimes I do have to take a break from social media, and it’s not like I have to make myself eitha. I guess bored would be the word to describe it. It’s just kind of repetitive to me after awhile. I can’t say negative because I follow a lot of inspiring people, family, ya know, bloggers, and what not. So, it’s not negative. Just a constant scroll of the same things.

I used to have the worst habit of clicking on a social media site when nothing was going on. If I woke up in the middle of the night, I would click on Instagram. Not no mo. If I was riding shot gun in the car, I would click on Twitter. Not no mo. Chile, I got on my own nerves. Now, these days, I don’t really have time to click on anything for leisure. Plus, my husband is not a phone person at all, and I mean at all. So, me being the self aware wife that I try to be. I have slacked off my phone a lot. If it’s not making me money or smarter, than I gots to go. I think my husband appreciated me bringing that up in a conversation without him mentioning anything to me about it. I know if he was on his phone as much as me, I would comment on it. So, I could imagine how he may have felt.

So yeah, those are my thoughts on social media. If RedLipstickandCammies did not exist. Neither would I.
