Hey Chile!
Woo-wee!! I have really been enjoying my Mother’s Day weekend so far! Not to mention we were still celebrating our three-year anniversary too. I can’t lie. I love how my wedding anniversary and Mother’s Day is two weeks apart. Can we say, spoiled!
First thing first. I have my car! FINALLY. My BMW (Whitney.) was still in Cleveland. We drove Robs car here so. We planned on getting my car shipped, but Rob was like, ‘Nope.’ He flew to Cleveland, got my car. stopped at our parent’s house and brought it on in to California. He did the dang thang. I sure did miss my car. Not to mention, the fact that I pay a car note every month for a car I wasn’t driving.
I’m so thankful for my Husbae. He took time out to drive back across country, just so I could have my car. We were laughing the other day when I told him thank you. I jokingly told him, “You must love me baby, because I would have told you, I got my car. I don’t know what you’re going to do.” Hahaha!! It was funny, because it’s half way the truth. It’s not too much that I wouldn’t do for my husband. But listen, I’m not at all too eager to drive across the country. Ok?! He left Virginia on Monday and pulled up in front of our house Wednesday before 6 o’clock p.m. Chile, I would have just been getting to Tennessee good.
When Rob is gone, I really be missing him. Thank God for a phone, cause Chile! When he told me he was going to be gone a few days to get my car, it was bittersweet. I wanted him here, but I wanted my car too, so.
One thing that I do love and appreciate, when Rob is gone, is how much we talk. We be chatty Chile. I love how we talk on the phone for hours. Reminds me of back in the day. Ya know, the dating phase. The new phase. I know it sounds corny, but I still feel that way. One phone would die, and I would pick up the other one. Monday and Tuesday, I stayed up to like 3 o’clock in the morning, keeping him company. But after awhile, I couldn’t take it anymore. Ha-ha. I was getting sleepy. Sentences started to come together. But I always wake up every hour I feel like to call and check on him. I know him well enough to know when I can go back to sleep, or rather I need to stay up and talk with him.
We went to San Diego Thursday. That was way fun too. I really enjoyed myself. I ate good. Shopped good. And had good conversation on the three-hour ride back home (Naomi ws sleep so.) Rob had been to San Diego before. I know he went to recruiting school there. He showed me a couple of different spots. It was an over cast too. But that was no biggie. It still didn’t rain though.
SIDE BAR: SO, ALL THREE OF US ARE IN BED, JUST RELAXING. I JUST ORDERED LOTS OF CHINESE FOOD. CAN WE SAY, LAZY DAY!! ROB IS DOZING OFF, I’M CHIT CHATTING WITH YOU, AND NAOMI IS IN THE MIDDLE LIKE, *hello* SO, I TURNED TO SESAME STREET. SHE LOVES SESAME STREEET. SHE LOVES THE COOKIE MONSTER. HAHAHAHA! SHE LIKES ELMOL TOO. BUT THE COOKIE MONSTER IS HER FRIEND. SHE GOT SO EXCITED THAT SHE GAVE ME A BIG HUG AND SAID, “MOMMA, THANK YOU.” AWWW. SEE. (Those moments.)
Naomi is so thankful.
I’m serious!!
Naomi has no problem saying thank you at all. (We have to work on that ‘please’ more.)
But ‘thank you’ and ‘your welcome.’ We got that in the bag.
Sometimes she will say thank you out the blue. I’m like, “For what Naomi?” She’s like, “Just thank. you, ok!” Haha! She’s so funny. I literally laugh every day of my life!!
So, yeah.
While we were in San Diego I made sure to stop at this hair store that I had Googled a few months back. Chile let me tell you. Don’t take me in no hair store! You know how some people love Nordstrom’s, Aldo, or whatever. Shoot, I love those stores too. But that’s how I love the hair store too. The hair store is my jam!!! I go in there and get everything from what I need to what I want, and then some.
We got to the counter and a sign read, “15% off military discount.”
Look at God!!
We went out to eat at Joe’s Crab Shack and had lunch. But it was my dinner too. I was so full. My food was pretty good. Naomi really enjoyed her little seafood platter. We stopped at Apple Bees on our way home and got two blondies. (Dessert.) Anyone else ever do that? I didn’t eat the blondie. But Naomi and me sure ate the ice cream.
I got my nails and toes done yesterday. (Friday.) Chile, I fell asleep during my pedicure. That thang felt so good. I had an appointment for 11 o’clock that morning. I made sure to call and make my appointment early. Being it’s Mother’s Day weekend, I knew they would be busy. I think I was the first customer there too. Sandy be doing her thang. I see why she stays booked and busy. That lady did my feet for an hour. Then turned right around and did the heck out of my nails. I so love her.
I got home and passed out. You would have thought I drove from VA to CA. I basically slept all day yesterday. Watched movies, ate, etc, etc, etc. and repeat.
I did however get up this morning about 7 o’clock to run. It was nice out too. A nice little breeze or whatever. I think it was only like 86 degrees out today. I never thought I would be thankful for 80 something degree weather. But it’s usually 94 and above here. So, yeah. I came in an hour later, did my squats, and ab work outs, took a shower, and got right back in bed. Chile, I am tired. I am enjoying these naps and runs alone. Naomi is all up under Rob. And I’m loving it. She comes and shows me love when need be. #SweetBaby
I’ve been reading this really good book too. My mom gave me two big black trash bags full of books for Rob to bring back to me from Virginia. I have books for days. #BookWorm in real life. I love to read. My mom and me talk about books like people talk about TV shows. She’s been looking out for me since I’ve been on the west coast. I haven’t seen not naa book by a black author since I have been in Cali. I am pretty sure that has a lot to do with where I live in California too though. #Desert My mom also gave me some house décor too. Rob and my dad just laugh at us.
It’s nothing like a good book. I’m trying to tell you!! Better than any movie. This book I’m reading now is so good! I’m only on chapter 9 and already I’m like, “What!” Maybe I should start doing book reviews.
Mmm…
What do you think? Feel free to leave a comment. #IJS
You know, my husband asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day last month. I’m pretty sure he was trying to kill two birds with one stone when he was getting my anniversary gift. In all truth, since we’ve been married, I always tell him he doesn’t have to get me anything. Which, him being him, he always does. But honestly, I mean it. I always want to keep in mind to focus on what we’re celebrating, us. So, I’m just thankful ya know. Just enjoying us. So, yeah. He asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day, and I told him, “Everything I already have.”
Now who knows I’ll be looking for my flowers on the bar top tomorrow morning??!! Rob just rolled his eyes. Hahahaahaha!! #Hilarious.
So, next week we will chit chat about a few things I’ve been working on and thinking about. I can’t lie, I’ve been super lazy. Since I’ve been waking up at the crack of dawn for the last three weeks to workout (Week four is coming up!! Woo-Hoo!) I just cannot hang. Naomi either. We be out! I do the basics Chile. Study and keep it pushing. Plus, the hubby is home, so.
Random: You ever hear a song and it takes you back? Chile!
Anyways.
I’m about to wrap this here on up.
Happy Mother’s Day Beautiful.
AIN’T NO HOOD LIKE MOTHERHOOD!! #SayWhat
