Okay! So, I decided to combine ‘Sunday Jumpstart’ and ‘My Black is Lit.’ How refreshing is it to talk about beautiful black Queens on a relaxing Sunday?! I mean, I’m Just Saying….
And I don’t like to over post. I want everyone to get the full effect of every post! I just don’t want you to miss out Chile.
So, we can chit chat about some ‘Sunday Jumpstart’ tings and then hit up ‘My Black is Lit’ how does that sound?!
Sunday Jumpstart Tings *Take Two*
1. Start of everyday fresh! Let it GO! It happened yesterday!! Okay? Okay!
2. Adopt a “Meatless Monday” (I DO THIS!) every now and then at at least! And I don’t want to hear, “I can’t do that!” With that mentality you ain’t gone be able to do much of nothing!
3. Put away your phone when you’re out and about! Speaking for myself. I will allow social media take over sometimes. Scroll. Scroll. But yeah I’m working on that. So ya, put ya phone down Chile!
4. Don’t try to keep up with the Joneses’! (Haha) That’s funny! But yeah, March to the beat of your own drum! Stop worrying bout other folks and what they doing!! What you doing?
5. Make your Home a place where you want to be! Your Home is suppose to be your Safe Haven! I don’t give a dog on if you live in a shack or a hole in the wall. Decorate, make it comfy, cozy! It’s yours!!
Happy Sunday Beautiful, or Handsome!
oXox.
….moving on to the next gig.
So, today we’re going to talk about the beautiful, Mary Kenner. Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenener.
Ms. Kenner was born May 17, 1912, and went on to glory January 13, 2006.
So, I don’t know if you knew this, I didn’t. But Mary Kenner is an African American inventor most noted for her development of the ‘sanitary belt.’
Ms. Kenner is a down south chick. *Clears throat* I’m so sorry. But she was from the south. I love the south so, that low key makes me happy. She was born in Monroe, North Carolina. She once said that her father gave her the ‘thirst’ for inventory things.
That lady invented the sanitary belt, and the sanitary belt with a moisture-proof napkin pocket. The sanitary napkin (Pads Chile.) wasn’t patented until 1956, 30 years after she invented it.
Oh yeah! She also invented the tissue holder, and the back washer! She made it so that it was mounted to the back of the wall. She also had walkers for the disabled!
Hello #BlackExcellence
Thank you Ms. Mary Kenner, thank you.
