Offense Is the Bait of Satan {Self- Control}

The enemy knows he can’t destroy you from the outside, so he tries to get you to self-destruct from the inside.

Offense is his favorite bait.

He doesn’t have to attack your purpose directly if he can convince you to carry bitterness, resentment, and pride. Because once your heart is offended, your ears close, your love grows cold, and your words start to wound.

The Bible says:

“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle.”

– Proverbs 18:19 (KJV)

Offense traps you in a prison of your own emotions.

It blinds you to truth, blocks your prayers, and breaks your peace.

But here’s the thing, you have a choice.

You don’t have to take the bait.

You don’t have to clap back.

You don’t have to replay the hurt in your mind over and over again.

The Holy Spirit calls us to walk in self-control, not reaction. To guard our tongues and guard our hearts above all else (Proverbs 4:23).

When you refuse to be offended, you refuse to let Satan steer your heart. You choose peace over pride, healing over proving a point, and growth over gossip.

✨ Transparency Moment:

I want to pause and share a moment of honesty with you. Now that I study the Bible not just to read it, but to live it, breathe it, and become it, I’m in complete awe of the depth of God’s Word. Each verse feels like a love letter from Jesus Himself, gentle, powerful, and full of life. The more I read, the more I reverence Him. His Word isn’t just ink on pages; it’s His voice, His heartbeat, His comfort. It brings me peace, boldness, and the unshakable confidence of knowing that I am a child of the Most High God. He is truly a Father. 💕📖✨

I really love Jesus. He saved me when I blasphemed His name. When I spoke about Him but lived a life of a child of hell in my way of thinking and acting. Yet, when I was broken, sad, defeated, ashamed, and felt unworthy of life, He came and saved me. 🥺🥹

💭Reflection:

Where has offense tried to steal your peace lately?

Before reacting, pause and ask, “Lord, is this worth my peace, or is this a setup from the enemy?”
